Demolition

Before a renovation can begin, the old materials usually have to come out — tile, cabinets, fixtures and finishes that no longer fit the plan. J&K Renovations performs selective interior demolition throughout Brevard County and surrounding areas to prepare a space for rebuilding.

What This Includes

  • Selective interior demolition
  • Bathroom demolition
  • Kitchen demolition
  • Removal of old finishes and fixtures
  • Site prep ahead of a renovation

Common Project Types

  • Bathroom gut-out ahead of a remodel
  • Kitchen demolition before a full renovation
  • Removing old flooring, cabinets or fixtures
  • Clearing a room down to studs and subfloor for rebuilding

Why It Matters

Demolition sets the pace for everything that follows in a renovation — if it's rushed or done carelessly, it can damage plumbing, electrical or structural elements that were meant to stay. Doing it selectively, with an eye toward what's being kept versus removed, avoids costly surprises once the rebuild starts.

Our Approach

We perform selective demolition — removing what the renovation plan calls for while protecting what stays, such as plumbing lines, electrical or structural framing not being replaced. This is standard interior demolition; it does not include hazardous-material remediation. If asbestos, mold or other hazardous materials are suspected, that requires a separate, appropriately licensed specialist before any demolition proceeds.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you handle asbestos or other hazardous-material removal?

No — our demolition work does not include hazardous-material remediation. If asbestos, mold or similar hazards are suspected, a licensed specialist needs to handle that separately before demolition proceeds.

Is demolition available as its own project, or only with a remodel?

Demolition is typically done as prep work ahead of a renovation we're also performing, so the removal lines up with what the rebuild actually needs.

Will you protect plumbing and electrical that's staying in place?

Yes, selective demolition means removing what the plan calls for while protecting plumbing, electrical or structural elements meant to stay.

Do you also haul away the debris from demolition?

Yes — debris removal is available as part of the project, and we also offer dump trailer rental for larger cleanups.
